SurveySpot Review 2024: Is It Legit or a Scam?
Last updated: November 28, 2024
A scam website is enough to completely turn you off the concept of paid surveys. To avoid the experience, check out my SurveySpot review to choose the right option.
Let’s face it; it’s quite intimidating to see everyone around you discussing lucrative side hustles when you barely have the energy to do your day job. However, if your day job isn’t enough to make ends meet and save up for retirement, there are many easy jobs you can take up online.
Speaking of online paid tasks, taking surveys is perhaps the easiest way to make money online. You don’t need any specific experience or training, and you can start working at any time of the day.
You can also try signing up for multiple websites and earning enough cash to pay for small needs and even a few luxuries.
Whether you’re already working for a paid survey site or are looking for an option to begin your journey, choosing a legitimate site is crucial.
In this SurveySpot review, I have described one of the industry’s pioneering survey sites to help you choose.
SurveySpot Review
Initially, signing up and getting started on a paid survey website seems easy. Even though most survey sites have easy sign-up processes and let you take paid tasks immediately, the internet is full of scams.
If you’re unlucky enough to join a scam site, you will waste time and compromise your sensitive information online.
To avoid this fate, conducting complete due diligence for every option before becoming a member is best.
I know nobody has the time to scrounge through hundreds of options to find the right one. That’s where my SurveySpot review comes in.
In this review, I have included the answers for,
- Is SurveySpot legit or a scam?
- How does it work?
- How to sign-up?
- How will you get paid?
- Is SurveySpot worth it?
Besides that, I have discussed all the integral features of the website in detail to make an informed decision. So let’s get started.
What is SurveySpot?
Before I get to the platform’s details, here’s a brief introduction for those unfamiliar with the site: SurveySpot is a basic market research platform created in 2000.
It is owned by the famous market research company Dynata, which has access to all the information generated through the website. Later, Dynata shares this information with relevant brands and retailers for revenue.
You can participate from anywhere in the US if you’re aged 18 and above and get paid for taking surveys. SurveySpot is popular for its massive quarterly sweepstakes, easy payment processing, and minimum survey disqualification.
If that makes you want to learn more about the site, read through the next section of my SurveySpot review to see how it works.
How SurveySpot Works?
If you’ve never used a survey site, you probably think the whole concept is shady. I don’t blame you. Why would a company pay you for merely answering random questions online?
But that’s the point. The questions these companies set up for you in paid surveys are not random.
These surveys are meticulously designed to extract crucial information from consumers. Brands can then use this information to formulate effective advertising strategies and increase sales.
That’s why signing up with a survey site that gives you the right value for your honest opinions is essential. SurveySpot is backed by one of the industry’s most reputable market research companies, making it a legitimate option for newbie survey-takers.
Once you become a member, the site will suggest relevant surveys based on the details you provide during sign-up. You simply answer the questions to earn points.
After accumulating enough points, you can exchange them for gift cards and cash to compensate for your time on the site.
Although the process is simple, the website offers a customer support section to guide you if you have any problems or queries while operating the site.

How to Sign Up for SurveySpot?
The easy sign-up process is one of the things I love about SurveySpot. You don’t need to spend hours filling out profile surveys or waiting for a reply to your application for weeks.
Instead, you can answer a few basic questions and start taking paid surveys right away. Additionally, the platform’s website is user-intuitive and helps you navigate effortlessly, even as a first-time user.
The required information includes your name, location, gender, birth date, education, and profession. Remember to fill out these details honestly, or else you’ll get screened out of the surveys you take.
That’s because the platform thoroughly scrutinizes each survey response before accepting it. If your answers don’t match your profile, you’ll be disqualified.
Besides that, if you provide truthful information, you will have access to the most surveys on the site, which are worth your time.
After you become a member, the website offers other money-making opportunities, including surveys. I’ll discuss them in detail in this SurveySpot review.

SurveySpot Pros
Now that you’ve been through the basic information about SurveySpot, you must have decided if the platform is worth your time. If not, I have listed down the benefits you’ll get from SurveySpot to make your decision easy.
Accessible Money-Making Technique
Taking surveys on SurveySpot does not require any initial training or expertise. You can simply sign up and start getting paid for your opinions.
If you’re looking for an easy, less time-consuming side hustle, SurveySpot is the ideal option.
Low Minimum Payout Threshold
SurveySpot lets you redeem your rewards once you have 500 points in your account. You will get 10-20 points for each 10-minute survey on the site, so you can easily reach the threshold within weeks.
Fast Payment Processing
Most survey platforms have high minimum payout thresholds combined with long processing periods. This means it might be months before you get your first payout after joining a site.
That’s not the case with SurveySpot. Although you have to reach a minimum payout threshold, you will receive your money immediately once you apply for withdrawal.
Ample Surveys to Take
Another aspect that helps you see whether a site is legit or a scam is the availability of surveys. It’s no use applying to survey sites that don’t offer paid tasks.
With SurveySpot, you’ll get multiple surveys to take at any time you want. Similarly, these surveys are based on various topics, so you won’t get bored answering monotonous questions.
Profitable Gift Cards
SurveySpot lets you redeem your rewards through PayPal, but let’s face it, the cash amount is quite negligible. If you don’t prefer cash, you can redeem your rewards through gift cards from your favorite brands and even get airline miles.

SurveySpot Cons
Even though there’s a long list of benefits to using SurveySpot, there are always two sides to the coin. That’s why I have listed the cons I encountered while using the platform to give you an honest representation.
Misleading Time Limits
SurveySpot shows you the price and time required for each survey before you take them. However, these time limitations are not always honest.
You may spend twenty minutes on a survey that claimed to take only ten.
Delayed Customer Support Responses
Although you can contact the platform through email regarding any queries or problems, they take pretty long to reply. This means you might be stuck if you don’t see a satisfactory answer on the FAQ page.
Limited Availability
The platform is only available for US citizens. However, if you live in the UK or Europe, you can use Opinion World, a partner site for users worldwide.

Key Features
After learning about SurveySpot’s benefits and drawbacks, you might be willing to give it a chance or drop the idea right away.
If you’re from the former category, I have explained all its features in this section of my SurverySpot review to help you out.
SurveySpot Earning Opportunities
The central aspect you should assess on every survey site you visit is the earning opportunities. If the site does not always have multiple money-making tasks available, it is no use signing up and wasting your time.
With SurveySpot, you can choose from multiple earning opportunities to maximize your time on the platform.
Paid Surveys
Paid surveys are the most lucrative way to make money on SurveySpot. On average, each survey takes around 10-20 minutes to complete and pays you anywhere from 20-100 points each.
The best part is that the website searches for relevant surveys and provides email notifications for you. This way, you don’t have to scrounge through long lists and take surveys only to get disqualified.
However, I wouldn’t say there’s zero possibility of getting screened out of SurveySpot surveys. Due to informational malfunction and system glitches, you can get disqualified from the surveys you get from the site.
But SurveySpot pays you even if you’re disqualified from surveys so that you don’t entirely waste your time.
Similarly, you shouldn’t expect to get SurveySpot referrals multiple times a day. While you might get lucky on some days, you should sign up.
In general, you should not expect too many surveys from SurveySpot. It has a decent amount, but if you want to participate in daily surveys and have more earning opportunities, it is good to join other legitimate survey sites.
Another critical point is to verify your email as soon as you become a member. You’ll only receive email notifications after you complete the verification process.
Quarterly Sweepstakes
Who doesn’t love to get paid for doing nothing? You can automatically participate in lucrative giveaways and get a chance to win a massive SurveySpot bonus every three months.
You’ll get automatic entry into the first sweepstakes after you become a member. After that, you will get a free entry certificate for every survey you take.
If you’re lucky, you can earn up to $10,000. However, the chances are pretty thin as hundreds of users are on the platform.

SurveySpot Payment Methods
You can redeem your rewards once you earn at least 500 points, equivalent to $5 on SurveySpot. Most survey sites either offer payments through PayPal or gift cards.
But, in the case of SurveySpot, you will get both. The gift card options include discounts from favorite brands and retailers, including Amazon, WebShop, and iTunes.
Interestingly, you can redeem your points for free air miles and save money while traveling.
While you can get these rewards with 500 points, you will have to earn more if you want to go for PayPal cash. The minimum payout threshold for PayPal cash is 1000 points, for which you’ll get $10.
If that doesn’t seem like much, you can let your rewards sit until you save enough to receive a substantial amount. The points on SurveySpot don’t expire like other survey platforms.
Once you request payment, your PayPal payments will be processed, and your gift cards will be shipped to your address within 2-5 days.
SurveySpot Mobile App
Another great feature of SurveySpot is its accessible and user-friendly mobile app. You can take surveys on SurveySpot through the app without waiting to reach home on your desktop.
Simply check your phone throughout the day for any email updates from the site. If you receive a notification, click on the link, which will redirect you to the app.
Even if you don’t download the app on your smartphone, you can open the website through your mobile browser. Some surveys might not be optimized correctly in this case, but you can always zoom in and complete your task.
SurveySpot Customer Support
As I mentioned, the customer support service on SurveySpot is a bit of a letdown. They have a contact page on their website and a Facebook support page to reach their support team.
Unfortunately, most user reviews show that the representatives provide slow responses, which are not always productive. This might be a hassle if you’re used to websites with live chat options and user hotlines.
But, according to my observation, the site is pretty easy to navigate, and the payment processes are flawless.
You will find resourceful information on their neatly organized FAQ page even if you need support.

Is SurveySpot Worth it?
Based on my experience using SurveySpot, the site is legit and not a scam. But whether it is worth your time depends on your personal needs.
If you’re looking for a lucrative website where you can work for hours and make around $10-$20 per day, SurveySpot is not for you.
On the other hand, if you want a platform where you can find paid surveys in your free time to keep some extra change in your pocket, SurveySpot is for you.
Make sure to keep your email notifications on as a member of SurveySpot so you can take highly paid surveys and participate in sweepstakes as soon as they are published on the website.
